ANYONE KNOW HOW TO SETUP THIS PELICAN ADAPTER W/ XBOX 360 ON 2WIRE COMBO?
This is driving me absolutely insane!!!
Considering I do all the computer & wireless network stuff in the house, I absolutely refused to pay the ridiculous $ MS wants for their adapter & bought this one based on price & reviews. Only thing is that I cannot figure this stupid thing out to save my life & my nephew is driving me nuts trying to get it set up. Originally I had a perfect set up w/ the old SBC modem & my D-Link router, but ever since I got this AT&T 2WIRE, it seems impossible.
Got the Pelican initially set up, plugging it directly into the 2WIRE (modem/ wireless router) & configuring all the firewall ports – no problem there . . . but once I plugged the PELICAN ethernet cable back into the XBOX, I’ve got nothing. The XBOX just won’t recognize the Pelican Adapter (e.g. under Advanced Tab- Wirelss Connection is NOT available). GRRRR – So then I try manually adding the IP I had originally assigned to the Pelican – that didn’t work. Then I try the AUTO IP option – which ironically grabs the correct IP address from my 2Wire, correct subnet ask too – but still won’t connect . . . . as I check the Wireless Config & the XBOX still isn’t available (in order to choose my publicly broadcasted SSID & enter my WEP-Open pass)
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Bought the Pelican brand new – no disk or anything to set up w/ XBOX 360, so I figured the XBOX would auto recognize it – it doesn’t. I’ve tried resetting everything a million times & I’ve configured the Pelican and even entered my SSID on one of the pages (at this point, forgot what else I’ve done since I’ve tried so many things) – but still nothing matters once it’s plugged into the XBOX – what gives?
ANYONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW I GET THIS PELICAN TO WORK W/ THE XBOX’s WIRELESS CONFIG????
(Gonna throw either this Pelican, the XBOX and/or my nephew right through the window really soon!!!!)
